The Western Kentucky Catholic is the official newspaper of the Diocese of Owensboro. Beginning in 1974 in the form of the Diocese of Owensboro Newsletter and then transitioning to newspaper format in 1985 under its current name, The Western Kentucky Catholic, our newspaper was established under the leadership of Bishop John J. McRaith and founding editor Mel Howard.

The Western Kentucky Catholic is published 10 times a year and mailed to every registered Catholic household in the Diocese of Owensboro, as a direct use of parish assessment dollars.
