All welcome to celebrate Hispanic/Latino Advent and Christmas traditions
Editor’s note: Every December, communities across the world, including many in and from Latin America, celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe in the days leading up to her feast on Dec. 12. Please join our local parishes in celebrating this beautiful tradition.
St. Joseph, Bowling Green
Wednesday, Dec. 11:
5:30-6:15 p.m. | Procession/rosary
6:30-7:30 p.m. | Holy Mass
7:30-8 p.m. | Play about Our Lady’s apparitions
8-10 p.m. | Mariachi band (Refreshments are served during mariachi)
10-11 p.m. | Music honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe
Sts. Joseph and Paul, Owensboro
- Novenas schedule: Dec. 3-11 at 6:30 p.m. in the church. Due to Mass on Saturdays, on Dec. 7 we will relocate to the parish hall that is located on 514 East 4th St., Owensboro.
- Día de Guadalupe: On Dec. 11, all are invited to attend our feast day celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We will begin our festivities at 11:30 p.m. with songs and a children’s play recounting the story of Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe. At midnight, we will offer Mass and we will end our time together in the parish hall until 2 a.m. with refreshments.
- Las Posadas schedule: Dec. 16-24 at 6:30 p.m., we will offer this year all Posadas in the homes of our parishioners. Please watch our parish bulletin and Facebook page for details on the location of each Posada (facebook.com/stjpcc).
St. Joseph, Mayfield
Novenas schedule: Dec. 3-11 at 6:30 p.m.
Please note that the Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration will be on Sunday, Dec. 8. After Mass there will be a play of the apparitions, dances, and food.
Las Posadas schedule: Dec. 15-23 at 6:30 p.m. For addresses and more information call the parish office (270) 247-2843.
