The 27th annual YOUTH 2000 drew more than 500 participants (400 of them youth) for the March 15-17, 2024 retreat, which was held at Brescia University in Owensboro.

The retreat, which is centered around Christ in the Eucharist and focuses on bringing teens closer to the Eucharist, is led by the Diocese of Owensboro’s Marian Shrine Committee and cosponsored by the diocese’s Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry.

YOUTH 2000 features prayer, Mass, Confession, talks, and fellowship with other Catholic youth from around the diocese. This year’s retreat saw more than 500 registrations of youth and adult leaders, which was the highest number seen since 2020.
