St. Martin’s celebrates steady parishioner growth with ‘Sunday Fun Day’

BY NICOLE GRAY, SPECIAL TO THE WESTERN KENTUCKY CATHOLIC

St. Martin Parish in Rome, Ky., has grown so much in the past couple of years that they decided to host a Sunday Fun Day to help some of the newer members meet some of our “older” ones. St. Martin has always been known as a spirit-filled community of disciples committed to prayer, education and service, so it made sense to bring all the new members together in this fun way so they can continue to draw closer together as a faith-filled community.

Sunday Fun Day was celebrated Oct. 2, 2022, at St. Martin Parish. The event was a big success that had parishioners mingling, laughing, eating and enjoying each other as one big happy parish family. The event had multiple inflatables, a kiddie corner with activities, live music from recording artist Mitch Douglass and of course hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and ice cream.

There was even an impromptu balloon artist from one of the newer parish members who made balloon animals for the younger kids. Included in the activities was a 50/50 raffle that benefited one of our parishioners, Delaney Ebelhar, who is battling a very serious disease. The raffle too was a big success.
